Why I love Beat Bama Food Drive
I got involved in Beat Bama Food Drive because I wanted to help fight against hunger in Alabama. I am very passionate about this cause because I was able to get involved in high school through a similar program.Through this project we were able to give over 100 local families a Christmas. We would get them food for ten days, pay off any bills they had, and buy presents for the children. Also, I went on a mission trip to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. In this mission trip we went to an orphanage and put on VBS, helped fix the orphanage, and delivered Styrofoam coolers filled with nonperishable food to a local village nearby. Both of these experiences I have had were so moving to realize how many people are without food. These experiences make me want to extend my involvement in the fight against food insecurity in college.
Being able to help your local community is so rewarding because you are able to be apart of making a difference. The amount of people that are struggling against hunger is very alarming because it could very well be the people around you. Therefore, I would love any support towards fighting the ongoing problem of food insecurity! Thank you for your time and Beat Bama!!
