About Holton's Heroes #BeaHeroChallenge

For those not familiar with our nonprofit, for the past 5 years we've walked the boardwalk during magic hour in Ventnor City, NJ each summer to pay tribute to the tens of thousands of pediatric brain injury survivors around the country. Each year hundreds of participants would flood this tiny beach town in a display of solidarity but this year—as we all know—things are different due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Times have changed, so we must change with them. 

We are living in during a moment like no other and it's we recognize that it is more important than ever to support those less fortunate. Since large gatherings are not a safe or responsible decision, our team has reimagined our walk into a virtual experience that allows everyone around the country—and the world—to participate in from the comforts of their home. The #BeaHeroChallenge aims to pump some good feelings back into our collective hearts by filling it with love, hope and acceptance!

To participate is very easy. Register here and we'll mail you an incredibly soft, limited-print t-shirt. Then on Saturday August 1st post a photo or video doing a Hero-like pose on any social media platform using the hashtag #BeaHeroChallenge. Let's flood people's feeds with incredible images of every day heroes instead of stories about loss and fear. 

Since 2015, hundreds of walk participants have helped us raise thousands of dollars used to directly help child brain injury survivors like Zahir, Ronan, Gabe, and so many more. We must continue to fight for these children, as they are an important part of our collective future.

We are thrilled to announce a new peer-to-peer fundraising platform for this year’s event.

On this site, participants can easily register for the #BeaHeroChallenge within minutes, including adding each member of the family. Registrants have the option to register as an individual—or if you want to get competitive you can join or start your own team and aim to raise the most funds. Everyone who registers will receive a limited-print t-shirt.

Once you register, every personal fundraising page is set up for success, but you can enjoy easy plug-and-play customization to really make your page yours! Best of all— you can effortlessly share your page everywhere.

Best of all, the top individual fundraiser will win a free night at the soon-to-be-open Virgin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Plus, that winner will also receive two (2) tickets to any show of their choice at The Joint located inside the Virgin Hotel & Casino.
