Bed Rocks features live music by Brass Solidarity and Luke Warm & the Cool Hands, craft beers, delicious appetizers, our popular silent auction, and an exciting live auction and program hosted by comedian Miss Shannan.

Minneapolis' "Big Fun String Band" Luke Warm and the Cool Hands loves playing home grown original music and all the best cover songs ever written. They’ve been donating their bluegrass talent and bringing the fun to our fundraisers for 11 years! We're so grateful for their ongoing support.

Brass Solidarity was founded in response to the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing fight in the movement for Black lives. The members come from a variety of musical backgrounds and are united in their dedication to using their talents to promote social justice and bring people together.

Our Emcee: Miss Shannan

Miss Shannan is one of the few Black women working in the United States professionally as a Certified Benefit Auctioneer. Host to countless corporate and charity events and acting board member for the Pacer Center and Autism Society of Minnesota, Miss Shannan's storytelling, comedy, and infectious smile make her performances unforgettable.

At our 10th Annual Beds & Bluegrass, we announced that our signature fundraiser will have a new look and feel – under the new brand, “Bed Rocks.” We are excited to launch this playful and vibrant new brand, created by Lee Branding, empowering us to create a more welcoming and inclusive event. This is one example of the many ways we are growing and evolving for the future of our organization and our ability to keep reaching thousands of children with new beds of their own.

About My Very Own Bed

Since our founding in 2014, My Very Own Bed has had one goal: to provide new beds and Dream Kits (bedding, books, and stuffed animals) to children moving into stable housing. The impact of a new bed is immediate; improving where and how children sleep improves their overall health and well-being.

With support from our volunteers, donors, and referral partners, we have reached more than 9000 children throughout the Twin Cities metro area since 2014. As our funding and network grow, so does our ability to impact even more kids' lives. Learn more at myveryownbed.org.
