Beds and Bluegrass 2023

We're excited to celebrate our 10th year of this wonderful family-friendly event with you as we support 1700 kids in our community with new beds and Dream Kits this year!

Minneapolis' "big fun string band" Luke Warm & the Cool Hands returns for the 10th year, along with music by Jazicality and Tess & the Anchormen. We'll have fun games for the kids, craft beers by Bauhaus Brew Labs and Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative, delicious appetizers, and our always exciting silent auction. Nyia Harris joins us as our emcee this year.

Support and represent My Very Own Bed at our 10th Annual Beds & Bluegrass Fundraiser! We need positive, welcoming volunteers for a variety of opportunities during and leading up to the event. Assist with event set up and tear down, checking in attendees, running kids' games, serving beer, and much more!

We're excited to have Nyia Harris as this year's emcee of Beds & Bluegrass!

Nyia was volunteering for My Very Own Bed on the day of our 7,000 bed delivery and was gracious enough to be interviewed on WCCO. Watch the story.

“How could you not want kids to be warm and safe in their beds? And have one of their own? So it's a great organization to be affiliated with," Nyia Harris said.

Raise a glass with us to celebrate 7,000 kids with new beds and Dream Kits (and counting!) since My My Very Own Bed was founded. Bauhaus Brew Labs and Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative each donated a keg, so all proceeds from these beer sales will benefit My Very Own Bed and kids in the Twin Cities!

Tess and the Anchormen have been playing for their fans for a couple of years. They play the sounds of the 70s–90s, as well as some current rock/pop. They’re all good friends and have good chemistry as a band, and have a variety of instruments, including a vocalist, drummer, keyboardist, bassist, guitarist, and saxophonist.

Since our founding in 2014, My Very Own Bed has had one goal: to provide new beds and Dream Kits (bedding, books, and stuffed animals) to children moving into stable housing. The impact of a new bed is immediate; improving where and how children sleep improves their overall health and well-being.

With support from our volunteers, donors, and referral partners, we have reached almost 7000 children throughout the Twin Cities metro area since 2014. As our funding and network grow, so does our ability to impact even more kids' lives. Learn more at myveryownbed.org.
