L’Arche Portland is a vibrant community in Portland, Oregon, where people with and without intellectual disabilities live together, share life, and build meaningful relationships through mutual care and belonging. Founded in 1987, it has grown into a dynamic, welcoming space of homes and outreach across the Portland metro area.

At the heart of our community are the gifts, dignity, and unique contributions of every person. Together, core members, assistants, staff, volunteers, families, and friends create homes where each person is known, valued, and celebrated. Daily life is shared through meals, work, laughter, celebrations, and the simple moments that remind us we all belong.

L’Arche Portland is part of an international federation of L’Arche communities around the world, united by a shared vision of building a more compassionate and inclusive society. Through relationships rooted in mutuality, we seek to challenge assumptions about disability, foster authentic human connection, and create spaces where everyone can thrive.
