As many of you know, I started working with the WaterFront Center about a year and a half ago, and it really has changed my life. The WaterFront Center is an organization focused on promoting environmental stewardship in the next generation of leaders. I am most passionate about funding our educational programs that provide experiential learning opportunities to youth of all ability levels ages 5-17. We are not just teaching kids how to measure water quality, monitor oyster growth, and understand the physics of weather systems - we're teaching the next generation how to be in tune with the environment in an engaging, hands-on way. Instilling a sense of responsibility for the waters of Long Island is critical to passing down the gifts where I live to the next generation.
