I just celebrated five years of working for Oasis. It is a privilege to raise funds to support all of our programs, but especially Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring.  

Did you know that in some of the schools where Oasis tutors, up to 89% of children are not reading at grade level?  Being able to read by third grade is essential and sets the foundation for learning for the rest of your life. I'm proud of our Oasis team and how they have pivoted to still support our struggling readers.  This fall, we are implementing virtual tutoring with some of our schools.   This is SO IMPORTANT.  You have have heard of summer slide, when kiddos lose the reading gains they make during the school year over the summer.  Well, now some of our studients are experiencing a Covid-slide from spring virtual learning, summer, and now virtual learning for many of our school districts.
