Porter-Leath has two milestones to celebrate! In addition to Porter-Leath’s 175th anniversary this year, we are also celebrating Books from Birth’s 20th birthday! This vital literacy resource has grown to serve over 35,000 children and families in Shelby County each month by providing them with an age-appropriate book.

Please consider a special gift this year to sustain our progress towards building a community of readers.

Our costs recently increased suddenly by 18% due to a postage increase, resulting in an additional $88,000 needed this year to keep books in the hands of our youngest readers. Despite the increase, you can ensure a child receives all twelve books this year for only $25, or fund a child’s full five years of books with a gift of $125.
