SUPER HEROS IN RENTED SHOES! Don't we all want to be that super hero deep down inside that helps save the day?
Well it has been 10 years now that I have been helping the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County in the Bowl for Kids Sake event and I have to say... it just keeps getting better!
I see firsthand how they reach out daily to help match these kids (Littles) with the Bigs (mentors) to give them loving guidance and support. A few hours a week spent together can make a lasting impact on a child! Especially if life seems to have dealt them a bad hand. That is what this program does. It matches up children in the community with mentors in the community for time spent having fun or just bonding.
But it takes money to keep the program running ..THUS you come in! ALL of the monies collected stay right within the community for this program. It is a win for all.
The event means so much more than fund raising. It is a time to come together to show God's love to kids and adults alike, in the community that sometimes get lost in the crowd.
