I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. Again this year, on March 12, I will be bowling to raise money for Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS). Just over two years ago, I was matched with Venicio (Nicho) through BBBS Sheboygan County, now BBBS WI Shoreline as Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties joined their efforts. Nicho and I have been able to make the best of the past two years, navigating regulations and illnesses to still meet physically or virtually at least once a week. Last summer and fall included a lot of bike riding throughout Sheboygan with stops at various parks and beaches. More recently we've gone sledding when weather allowed and played board games and card games in the event room in his apartment building.
I continue to see growth in Nicho's personality and confidence. His grades remain in good standing and he's helping out around the house more due to his mother's illness. Our time is limited, but his mother and I agree that it has been impactful.
