When I first accepted my position as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell this past February, I imagined it being much different, and I certainly wasn't expecting that I would have to learn what this position entails in the midst of a global pandemic. However, if you are someone who knows me personally, you know that it didn't take long to fall in love with the Club and to become passionate about my work and about the work that the Club does every single day to meet the needs of young people in and around Lowell. 

The reason I feel so passionate about this organization? It has given me the opportunity to work alongside people who are willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of its 8-18 year old members and of the community, and didn't let COVID-19 keep them from doing so. 

Over the past several months,the Club has distributed over 45,000 healthy meals through our Grab & Go Meals Program, has developed a Virtual Club to continue building relationships with youth who cannot join us in-person, and has created a new model for in-person programming to help ensure the safety of our staff and members. Additionally, it recently started an Educational Support Program so that members have a safe and supportive place to go while participating in remote schooling. 

With members only paying $30 per year in membership fees, the Club relies on the community for 75% of its annual funding. 

With all of this in mind, I need YOUR help to reach my goal of raising $750 for the Club! Any amount helps the Club (and me) to continue to serve young people in Lowell. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
