Change happens over time. It's not an event. But a series of intentional decisions that move your trajectory.
When I first met Manny, he was 12. He liked sports but was out of shape. He said he would put in the work so that's what we focused on for five years. Now he's deadlifting over 400lbs and the fastest kid on the high school football team.
One thing I've learned from Manny, is that change happens over time. It's not an event. But a series of intentional decisions that move your trajectory. Juggling school, work, helping out at home…he could have shut down when things didn’t go his way, but Manny always shows resilience, to make it happen.
I am so proud of Manny, of all he's accomplished, and all the GREAT things I know he's set out to do. So for the next two weeks, I'm fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters in this year's BIG Give! Will you make a donation to support me?
Your gift makes a difference for a child in Greater Cleveland!
- When we raise $100, it will sponsor one "Match Introduction," when a child meets their Big for the first time.
- When we raise $250, it will sponsor a month of "Match Support," where BBBS connects with the Big, Little, and their parent to help develop their friendship.
- When we raise $500, it will sponsor the enrollment of a new Big Brother or Big Sister, and help us take a child off the waiting list.
- And for every $1,500 we raise, we sponsor a full year of mentoring for a BBBS kid.
I believe in the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Thank you for helping us clear a pathway to each child's brightest future!
