Terry and I are thrilled to be participating in Par-TEA on the Green with BiG: 2025 Golf Benefit, a fundraiser supporting Brookwood in Georgetown Vocational (BiG)! BiG is a very “out of the box” vocational community for adults with special needs where everything they make is sold in a beautiful high-end gift shop and café. BiG’s goal is to change the way our world views this population of unique individuals. This goal complements the way we’ve raised our daughter. Rather than adopting the "status quo” of providing these individuals with custodial care, the “citizens” of BiG all contribute to the creation of beautiful marketable items they sell to help sustain the vocational community they enjoy. Alli is part of a community of about 90 citizens who have become artisans, bakers, card makers, jewelry makers, etc…. Alli is contributing to these vocations! It is absolutely amazing and inspiring!

BIG is supported by the revenue the citizens earn from their various enterprises, citizen tuition, and charitable donations. The BiG Golf Benefit is an annual fundraiser that provides vital operating expenses for the program. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the program thanks to a generous underwriter. Each Citizen is the captain of a team with a goal to raise $10,000 each, working together to achieve our collective goal! We invite you all to join Alli’s team.
