I will be participating in the 37th annual Bike-A-Thon for Bikes Not Bombs. This will be my third ride – a tradition that started when my brother-in-law Jeff recruited me the 100+ mile ride shortly after we moved to the Boston area.
Bikes Not Bombs is an incredible organization dedicated to empowering Boston’s youth in underprivileged neighborhoods to make a difference in their own neighborhoods and in other countries. They teach bike mechanics skills, allowing participants to rebuild and keep a bike. More importantly, they learn to use bicycles as tools for social change, advocacy, and empowerment.
