I’m participating in this year’s bike-a-thon to raise money for Bikes Not Bombs, for its 40 years of using the bicycle as a vehicle for social change. Bikes Not Bombs provides skill development, jobs, and sustainable transportation to underserved youth and adults in Boston and across the Global South. The need for this work has only increased in recent years, and since Bikes Not Bombs' mission is so important to me, I’m working hard to support them. In 2022 I biked a mere 10 miles. Last year I intended to bike 35 miles but broke my wrist the month before the ride. This year I'm biking that 35 miles no matter what. I've been an avid cyclist since moving to Boston 50 years ago and now that I am retired, I have (partially) retired my car in favor of my bike. In honor of BNB's 40 years and my nearly 73 years of existence, I have set a goal of raising $7300.
Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal. I couldn’t do this without you!
