I got my first real bike just over a year ago in April 2023, and I've fallen in love with all things bikes ever since! Nothing brings me more joy than gathering a group of friends to explore new places and enjoy the ride. I take my bike to work, to the beach, through the Fells, down the Cape, over the infamous gravel roads of Vermont, up (and down, and then back up again) Winter Hill, and to countless breweries and coffee shops. The bike has unlocked so much fun and adventure in my life, and has been an anchor point for my mental and physical wellbeing.
I've given the person who introduced biking to me a million thank yous, but he always just told me to "pass it on", so I've taken it on myself to bring bikes into the lives of anybody who will join me for a ride =)
When I discovered Bikes Not Bombs and their mission to create a more equitable and sustainable world that gets bikes into the hands of marginalized communities, I knew I needed to contribute. The September 8th ride will be my first Bike-A-Thon, and possibly my longest ride yet! Any donation is greatly appreciated - together we can pedal our way to a better world!
