Auction FAQs

Is my data secure?

Your data is highly secure! Both Qgiv and Greater Giving are Level 1 PCI compliant, meaning they have the highest level of security, as set forth in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.

What if I won a certificate for something that gets canceled?

Times are changing rapidly. The Bill’s Bash committee has worked very hard to confirm with all item donors that as of the time of the auction, events are still occurring. If the original event is unable to go on as planned, most donors are willing to rearrange certificate details for new events. If you win an item that is later cancelled by the donating organization, and they are unable to rearrange, let us know and we will offer you the comparable number of tickets to a Seattle Shakespeare performance in the future.

How do I watch Bash Live on May 3?

“Bash Attendees” who have registered for the auction, hosted a mini-Bash, or made a gift will be sent a link to participate in the live Zoom. Everyone, however, is welcome to watch a livestream of the event on our YouTube channel from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on May 3.

How will I receive my items?

Most gift certificates will be delivered digitally in the week or so following the event. Certificates and cards that must be presented in person will be mailed to the winner. Physical items that cannot be sent in a standard envelope can be mailed for an additional donation, delivered within the greater Seattle and Puget Sound region, or collected at the Seattle Shakespeare offices once Washington State’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order has been lifted. Wine and spirits are only available for delivery or collection, and you must show a valid photo ID to receive your beverages.

How do I register for the event? The auction?

You will receive access to all Bash content by:

Donating! Your gift today makes professional, classical, accessible theatre possible.

Hosting a Mini-Bash! Set your own fundraising goal, then invite your friends to (virtually!) join you.

Registering for the auction! See our helpful infographic for more detailed instructions.

Where do I bid?

All bidding will happen on Greater Giving. We recommend browsing items on Qgiv, but you’ll be taken to an item’s Greater Giving page when you click the “More Info” button below its photo. That’s where you’ll bid!

Why do I need to give my information twice?

This year’s Bill’s Bash uses two platforms: one to collect donations and preview auction items (Qgiv) and one to run the auction (Greater Giving). We chose these two platforms to give you the smoothest experience in both bidding and giving, but it means you’ll need to “sign up” for both if you’d like to participate in multiple ways (which we hope you will)!

What if my question isn't answered here?

The Fine Print

Placing a bid constitutes acceptance of the terms of sale as outlined herein. If your bid is the top bid or you choose to “buy-it-now,” it is a legal contract to purchase the auction item.

Every attempt has been made to describe items accurately. Please review the item descriptions carefully, including restrictions, expiration dates, or specific dates of availability that cannot be changed or altered. Estimated values are listed as stated by the donors and have been verified to the best of our ability. Items have not been appraised unless otherwise noted.

For the purposes of this auction, "Priceless" means the non-deductible market value of the item is $0.00, though the emotional and social value is, of course, priceless!

All purchases are final and there will be no extensions, exchanges, or refunds on items. All goods and services must be claimed and used within one year of the auction close date (May 3, 2021), unless otherwise noted in the auction item description.

Payment will be accepted in the forms of Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. If you need to make special arrangements for payment, particularly if you would like to pay by check, please reach out to Heidi McElrath at heidim@seattleshakespeare.org.

All experiences purchased at the auction are to be undertaken at the sole risk of the purchaser. Seattle Shakespeare is not liable nor responsible in any way for loss, injury, or damage to any person or property.

Please note that Seattle Shakespeare Company is registered with the IRS and the State of Washington as a non-profit organization, EIN 91-1512717. The amount of payments above the fair market value of an item are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
