Welcome to My Bash!
We Can Keep Theater Alive!
My first theater experience was when my parents took my older brother and me to the Starlight Theater in Kansas City when I was eight. Magical! Sitting outside under the stars on a warm summer night, watching a beautiful, fanciful theater performance just can't be beat!
In the mid-80s I started making an annual trip to Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and became immersed in the amazing and complex world of Shakespeare. The history plays, in particular, were challenging for a long time. And then I discovered Wooden O and the Seattle Shakespeare Company right here in Seattle, and I was hooked on their imaginative and compelling productions.
Seattle Shakespeare is a professional, all-classical, year-round theatre company that reaches across barriers of income, geography, and education to bring classical theatre to life for everyone in Washington State.
I've loved sharing the experience of theater with you, my friends, and I hope that you will join me in supporting Seattle Shakespeare Company. We WILL be back in the theater, and we all need to pitch in to keep theater alive in the meantime! Help me welcome new audiences, new students, and new artists into this work by making a gift today, and by spreading the word. You'll keep these classic works alive in schools, communities, and on stage, for today and for the future!
