Welcome to My Bash!
My Seattle Shakespeare Company Journey
Seattle Shakespeare Company has been integral part of the life of the O’Kelley-McCorkle family since we arrived in Seattle over 20 years ago, but it took us years to realize. When I was approached by a friend about joining the Seattle Shakespeare Company Board, I learned that the Wooden-O Shakespeare in the Park productions that that we had enjoyed with friends since our daughter, Meghan, was a toddler were part of SSC. I learned that the summer Shakespeare program that my daughter had done as a teenager — playing Prospero in a combined production with Teatro Zinzani — was part of SSC. Of course, I already knew that the amazing indoor season plays were part of SSC. And then I learned of the amazing education work that SSC does around the state every year.
Seattle Shakespeare Company is woven into our lives and our community. I’m committed to helping it continue its mission. With so many forms of entertainment competing for our attention, I believe in the power of live theater. I’m profoundly grateful that Seattle Shakespeare Company exists, and I’m excited to now be a part of helping SSC into the future. And I’m hoping you will join me!
Seattle Shakespeare is a professional, all-classical, year-round theatre company that reaches across barriers of income, geography, and education to bring classical theatre to life for everyone in Washington State. Whether you're in a seat at the Center Theatre or on the grass at Luther Burbank Park or in a school auditorium in Wenatchee, you are part of Seattle Shakespeare.
Bill's Bash is Seattle Shakespeare Company's annual fundraiser, all online for the second year! Celebrate theatre and help me welcome new audiences, new students, new artists into this work by making a gift today, and by spreading the word. You'll keep these classic works alive in schools, communities, and on stage, for today and for the future!
