As written by Keely's mom -

Keely was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on October 19th, 2020.  It was on that morning, I took Keely to what I thought was a normal doctors appointment for an ear infection that turned into a flight to Omaha and a diagnosis of cancer.  The next 794 days were spent traveling 3 hours to Omaha and back home more times than I can count.  Keely endured numerous procedures, pokes, steroids, chemo, blood and platelet transfusions, hospital stays, and continued to have recurring ear infections.  She lost her hair and her ability to walk.  She suffered severe pain in her legs from neuropathy that was intensified with every steroid pulse.  On December 22, 2022, Keely took her last dose of chemo.  Although her fight against cancer is over, her fight for quality of life still remains.  Keely continues to struggle with neuropathy, hearing loss, nightmares and extreme anxiety. 

The impact is vast that Angels Among Us has had on every member of our family.  They were instrumental in getting us through Keely's fight to survive cancer and now helping us through post treatment by providing social emotional support with events for our whole family which in turn connects us to other childhood cancer families who understand.
