Beacon of Life provides transitional housing and supportive programming to homeless women in Central Iowa. Last year we helped 100 women who made Beacon of Life their home for an average of 10 months. That's 10 months of support, accountibility, healthy habits and progress. It's the very beginning of a long journey for our women but it's the very best way to get started on the road to long-term and sustainable change. 

I sit on the board at Beacon of Life because I believe in the good in people and I believe in the power of women. I believe in investing in people for the long term, not in quick fixes to chronic problems. I serve at the Beacon of Life because I believe in compassion not pity. I believe that access to services and support from strong, empathetic people can make a difference. Beacon of Life meets our women where they're at and walks with them through the toughest parts of their journey.
