Beacon of Life provides transitional housing and supportive programming to homeless women in Central Iowa. Last year we helped 100 women who made Beacon of Life their home for an average of 10 months. That's 10 months of support, accountability, healthy habits and progress. It's the very beginning of a long journey for our women but it's the very best way to get started on the road to long-term and sustainable change.
I joined the board of directors for the Beacon of Life about 3 years ago when I wanted to get more involved within the community to make a difference and have seen firsthand how donations from our community can help contribute to the success of many vulnerable women across Central Iowa.
The women that the Beacon serves often have left everything behind: homes, jobs, loved ones-even their sense of selves. They are starting over, trying to rediscover who they are meant to be and how they can positively contribute to society. This organization is one I am very proud to be a part of and I would love for you to donate so the Beacon can continue with its mission in helping women in our community!
