Please Support My Fundraising Efforts on Behalf of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism!
I am excited to let you know that I am running in the 2024 Boston Marathon in support of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism!
As you may know, my son Felix was diagnosed with autism in June of 2022.
This cause is very personal to me, and I am thrilled to be running on behalf of an organization like the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism which has been an incredible force for those affected by autism.
An autism diagnosis can bring about a number of challenges for families, but interventions and supports can have a tremendous impact on the lives of those living with autism and, by extension, for their families. My wife, Tara, and I have witnessed this firsthand through Felix's journey over the last 18 months. These interventions and supports do not come cheaply, however, and need to be sustained over a long period of time.
Tara and I have been fortunate to be in a position to provide for Felix's needs and we're grateful that financial stress is not something we have had to deal with on top of the other challenges and stresses we have faced.
Your donations to my fundraising efforts will support the Foundation's work in providing financial assistance to families affected by autism who are not as fortunate.
Your support is greatly appreciated! Hopefully I will see you out on the course on race day!
I will be providing periodic updates on my training on Instagram and Facebook if you care to follow along over the next 20 weeks as I ramp up to try and hit my time goal of 3:40 :)
My Connection to Doug Flutie
In addition to the connection to the Foundation I have through Felix, I have always been a Doug Flutie fan. My first live professional sporting event I attended was a Patriots game in 1988 at Foxboro Stadium. I dressed in a full Patriots uniform, helmet and all, with a number 2 emblazoned on the jersey for the quarterback that day, Doug Flutie. I have always been a fan of Doug, and I am honored to be part of the team associated with him and his family!
