We are so excited to have the opportunity to be running the 2024 Boston Marathon for The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism! Over the past few years, we've experienced first hand what it means to be part of Dougie's Team and the incredible impact this organization has on the Autism community. We are proud to say that we've collectively raised over $30,000 for the Flutie Foundation and have no intention of slowing down any time soon... in fundraising or on the course!
The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation has become an important part of our lives, and as we continue to stay involved through the years, we also reflect on the real reason why it means so much to us. Autism is a spectrum, and within it, there are countless unique individuals with their own remarkable stories. We are blessed to have one of those remarkable individuals in our lives, Thomas Cucchi.
Thomas would not be the man he is today without the incredible support he has received throughout his life, from teachers and specialists to friends and family. It was almost 30 years ago when Thomas was diagnosed with autism. At the time, even with the immense support system he had, it was extremely difficult to access the critical resources that are made available through the Flutie Foundation today. Our family had to advocate for those resources to ensure Thomas' success. Over the years, The Flutie Foundation has become a trusted partner to individuals and autism organizations throughout the country - removing the barriers (economic, cultural, lack of availability of services geographically) for people with autism to connect with and access programs they need to prosper and grow.
By donating to this cause know that you are not only helping individuals like Thomas but families affected by Autism across the country who crave your love and support. It is our goal to raise $70,000 this year, bringing our total contribution since 2019 to $100,000! Any amount is greatly appreciated and makes a bigger impact than you can imagine.
