Please help me raise money for Dougies Team!! Dougie's Team does so much for individuals and their families that live with autism creating opportunities and inclusion that impact the community directly! 

Some of you may know that I had a horrible accident in my 20's that caused me to almost lose my left leg. When the specialists saved it I was told I would never run again. The Flutie Foundation has given opportunities to individuals with autism but, at the Boston Marathon also people like myself who are impacted by a disability and might not otherwise have the opportunity to race.They do this through the adaptive running program. It was the support from Dougies Team at my 1st Boston that gave me the courage to push my abilities and train more. I knew that if my ankle gave out I would not only have the support of the Boston marathon but also extra supports given to adaptive athletes. This helped me to overcome personal barriers and bring my running to a level I never thought achievable. This courage has then trickled into my everyday life and improved my confidence. As a Mom of two children with autism I share this becasue this same impact is felt by those with autism but at a stronger level. Individuals with autism don't have all the opportunities that most are given so when they find a place that supports and nurtures their talents or uncovers them they soar like they never have before. This gift is priceless BUT to keep providing that we need donations. No donation is too small and every donation makes a difference. Thanks for supporting all of us!!!
