What?

This year I will be fundraising for Boston Cyclists Union (BCU) on a ride from Boston to Montreal.The ride is 400 miles over 5 days. 

Why?

Riding a bicycle has always brought me joy. Everyday when I ride to work I am just impressed how such a simple machine has the capability of taking me many miles just with the power of my legs, it gives me the opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise as a side benefit.

However, it comes with its challenges due to the lack of safe infrastructure. It breaks my heart when I hear people interested in biking for transportation, only to then be discouraged by unsafe road design.

Making roads safer for cycling is a fundamental stepping stone for safety, equity and sustainability.

Who?

The Boston Cyclist Union (BCU) works to make streets safer for everyone in and around Boston. Other road users and I have been able to enjoy safer roads thanks to their advocacy.
