Would you be my tailwind?
I'm joining 40 fellow cyclists for a 400-mile journey from Boston to Montreal over 5 days, all to support biking networks across Greater Boston. I'm reaching out to ask for your help in reaching my fundraising goal.
Cycling isn't just a hobby—it's associated with significant health benefits. In two large studies, cyclists had a 35% lower risk of overall mortality and a 33% lower risk of cardiovascular-related deaths compared to non-cyclists [1]. To put this in perspective, the widely used statins, known for their cholesterol-lowering effects, were associated with a 14% and 31% lower risk of death and cardiovascular death, respectively, in a similar study [2].
Having cycled thousands of miles in the Boston area over the past 7 years, I've experienced firsthand the urgent need for improved biking infrastructure. Organizations like the Boston Cyclists Union are tirelessly working to make our streets safer for cyclists, ensuring future generations can enjoy the benefits and joy of cycling.
