I want to share with you something that's deeply personal to me – my commitment to cycling as my primary mode of transportation. I've made a conscious choice not to own a car, relying instead on my trusty bicycle to get me where I need to go. Whether it's commuting to work, attending doctor's appointments, or simply running errands, my bike has been my faithful companion through it all.

But let me be honest with you – biking everywhere isn't without its challenges. Every ride requires constant vigilance, as I navigate through traffic and contend with the inherent risks of sharing the road with motor vehicles. While I'm fortunate to have access to bike lanes, they don't cover my entire route, leaving me exposed to potentially dangerous situations.

That's why I'm reaching out to you today. I'm fundraising for the Boston Cyclist's Union, an organization dedicated to advocating for safer cycling infrastructure in our city. With your support, we can work towards making our streets safer for cyclists like me.

But I'm not stopping there. This year, I'm taking my commitment to cycling to new heights – quite literally! I'll be embarking on a journey from Boston all the way to Montreal, covering hundreds of miles on my bike. It's a challenge that I'm ready to take on wholeheartedly.

Despite facing adversity, including a torn hip labrum that once threatened to derail my cycling dreams, I've persevered. I underwent surgery to repair my hip, and now, with 100% function restored, I'm more determined than ever to pursue my passion for cycling.
