Hello!
My name is Tina, and I will participate in a group bicycle ride from Boston to Montreal to fundraise for the Boston Cyclists Union (BCU). I will bike nearly 400 miles over five days! This year will be my 5th year participating in the ride, and my 4th year helping to organize it. I am excited to participate!
Riding my bike gives me the freedom of movement. I have a deeper appreciation of all the places I have visited by bike. The photos of me on this page are just a few amazing places in New England and beyond I have visited by bike!
Boston Cyclists Union is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to improve bicycling for everyone in Boston. I believe in its mission, vision, and values, including people power, dignifying each person, mobility justice, joy and freedom, and sustainability. Some of the successful projects the BCU advocated for include the protected bike lanes on Massachusetts Avenue South and Boylston Street, they led the MBTA diversion response, and they built teams to push for safe street infrastructure on Blue Hill Avenue and the BU Bridge. While these projects are some examples of the work the BCU does, they work tirelessly to advocate for safe street infrastructure. BCU is a fantastic organization, and I encourage you to read more about their work on the website linked above.
This year is an even more critical year to support safe street infrastructure. With a Boston mayoral candidate who threatens to dismantle bike lanes and bus-bike lanes if elected mayor, reversing years of tireless advocacy work from so many people who care about safe street infrastructure, bike lanes have become a contentious, polarizing, and politicized topic and will continue to be in the Boston mayoral election. I ask you to join me in rising to meet the challenge of this moment by supporting the BCU’s work.
