Boston Cyclists are headed to Montreal!

Join me in supporting safer streets in the good ol' city of Boston

Bos/treal (Boss-tree-all) is a weeklong bike tour from Boston to Montreal. The ride is 400 miles over five days, so I’ll be camping out along the way. A group of 50 or so of us are doing this ride together and raising money for the Boston Cyclist Union!

Why Donate?

Donate to Support Safe Streets in Boston and Beyond

Founded in 2010, the BCU is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advances bike safety, accessibility and equity through organizing, advocacy, education, bike repair, events and more. It’s mission: to transform the streets of greater Boston into equitable, inviting people-centered spaces affording access and connection for every body.

This is a particularly tough time for bicyclists right now. The White House ordered a freeze on all federal grants involving "green infrastructure,” and bike lanes are a specific term they’re using to identify which grants to target. In Boston itself, mayoral candidate Josh Kraft is trying to ride this wave and differentiate himself from Michelle Wu by making “rip out all the bike lanes” his key campaign promise. Removing bike infrastructure doesn't make the bikes go away - it just puts those bikes back in the street with the cars, to the detriment of everyone. Plus, where will the delivery vehicles park if there’s no bike lane? :’)

Donate to Support Me :)

When I lived in the city, I commuted by bicycle - it was the fastest way to get to work, and safer than riding the T during COVID. I found that I loved riding - I was fortunate to have protected bike lanes on my way to work, and once I was a more comfortable city rider, I started branching out to riding in different parts of the city. I recently moved out to the South Coast, but kept riding my bike to work using the commuter rail.

I don't live or work in Boston anymore, but cycling has stuck with me. I mostly ride recreationally, but I still use my bike to get around whenever I can, especially in the city.

I was one of the many people who used bike infrastructure to get into cycling before I was super comfortable. To this day, it keeps me safe on my way to doctors' appointments, a friend’s house, or wherever I’m going.

Donate for the Perks

I want to make this fun for everyone so here are some perks that come with different levels of donation:

$  10 - I’ll add a song of your choice to my riding playlist
$ 20 - I'll write you a bicycle-themed dad joke
$ 30 - I'll tell you my favorite thing about you
$ 50 - I'll put you on the list to get updates from me during the ride, including pictures :o
$100 - I'll get you something cool in Montreal

Also note that the BCU is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donation is tax-deductible! Nice
