Hello!
My name is Tina, and I will participate in a group bicycle ride from Boston to Montreal to fundraise for the Boston Cyclists Union (BCU). I will bike nearly 400 miles over five days! This ride will be my first time visiting Montreal, and I am excited to participate!
Riding my bike gives me the freedom of movement. I have a deeper appreciation of all the places I have visited by bike. The photos of me on this page (including my profile photo) are just a few amazing places in New England I have visited by bike!
The Boston Cyclists Union works to improve bicycling for everyone in Boston. I believe in their mission, vision, and values, including people power, dignifying each person, mobility justice, joy and freedom, and sustainability. Additionally, BCU successfully advocated for protected bike lanes on the Mass. Ave. bridge and the Longfellow bridge. While these two projects are examples of the work the BCU does, they work tirelessly to advocate for more safe streets infrastructure. BCU is a fantastic organization, and I encourage you to read more about their work on the website linked above.
Your generous donation will go directly to fund BCU’s advocacy campaigns, organize and host community and membership events, including group rides like Bos/tréal, and run community building programs such as Bike to Market, which teaches residents in areas underserved by bike shops how to fix their own bikes.
My fundraising goal is $2,200. If 11 people donate $100, I will be halfway there! The ride starts on May 27, and I am hoping to raise $1,000 by early April.
