Back in the summer of 2018, I signed up for Big Brothers Big Sisters to connect with a stranger. More specifically, a kid - somewhere in my little state - who simply needed a little love, or a role model, or a positive adult influence, or a listening ear... I didn't know exactly what s/he would need, but I wanted to be that connection.

In August, I was matched with my Little, "B", and the last 11 months have been empowering, fun, and challenging - full of memories, adventures, movies, trips to Dunkin Donuts and CVS to print out pictures of our times together... and more. Anyone who's talked to me in the last year knows what a privilege it has been for me to be part of her world.

BBBSRI is an amazing organization, so I'm fundraising for the Bowl for Kids' Sake 2019 event so they can continue to make more connections like the one I have with "B." I believe in their mission that "inherent in every child is incredible potential" and, if you do too, I'm hoping you'll support my team! Your donation goes towards events and supporting the important work BBBS does fostering connections that make a difference.
