Over five years ago, my wife and I were enjoying a trip with our family in Disney. One of the things we do is carry heavy backpacks in the parks, to help us save some money. Frozen water bottles are heavy, and after nearly two weeks in the parks, Mari noticed a lump where her backpack was. Thinking nothing of it, we passed it off to overdoing it...and let it go. A few weeks after that, Mari was "feeling her boobie" area...and the lump had not gone away, so she asked me to feel it. IT WAS NOT NORMAL..so I lovingly suggested she have it checked out. 

A few weeks later, I remember sitting anxously in the waiting room to find out what the lump was. Mari peeked her head out of the doorway...and we locked eyes. Without her even saying a word, I knew it was cancer. 

Our lives would be forever changed. 

We found out that it was a very aggressive form of cancer - TRIPLE NEGATIVE. And that had she not found it when she did...and started her lengthy cancer treatment (24 rounds of chemotherapy, double mastectomy, lymph node and ovary removal), she may not be here today.

FEELING HER BOOBIES saved her life. I'm convinced. 

She is why...I am writing this today. She is why I'm advocating for FEEL YOUR BOOBIES on the lips of every young woman...every middle-aged woman...and every woman who is now in the summer of her life. We never want to think our boobies are safe from this disease.

So, if you have them...FEEL THEM! Feeling your boobies is essential - just like any other regular thing we do in life to live healthy, feeling your boobies needs to be a part of your health routine. 

This is my crusade. My focus, and my story. My wife is my hero - I'm SO GLAD she felt her boobies. I will continue to feel mine regularly, and each time I can say ALL CLEAR - I will thank God for another day with healthy breasts.
