Bridge the Gap to Nature!
Lost River Cave, as we know it today, started 30 years ago when a group of community members, just like you and your friends, began a grassroots effort to clean up the Cave that had been a dumping ground for years. This group of community members banded together to preserve one of our community’s natural and historical gems.
Today in this unprecedented time, we ask you to become a member of this grassroots effort to bridge the gap to nature. Your support and donation will:
- Ensure continued free access to trails that tens of thousands of locals hike every year to unplug and connect to the natural world around them.
- Endow place-based nature education programs that unlock curiosity and open minds to the wonders of our natural world for thousands of kids from our region.
- Conserve and protect Lost River Cave’s natural and historical resources on the 72-acre park, including the Cave and 6 other ecosystems.

Why are we fundraising?
Our biggest annual fundraiser, Get Down, had to be canceled. Amazing food, tasty beverages, and a rockin’ band were all in place to ring in Lost River Cave’s 30th anniversary. Alas, 2020 has brought change we could have never imagined. Get Down had to be canceled and tours came to a halt, so we're taking a cue from nature and adapting.
Help us make up the difference in 2020. Your support will help provide nature education to students across South Central Kentucky, preserve the Cave, and ensure continued free access to nature trails.
