Everyday Heroes Awards & Luncheon
Protect Children. Battle Child Abuse. Restore Lives.
Thank you for joining us at this inaugural event. We hope you learned more about the services and programs the Carousel Child Advocacy Center provides to help Brunswick child victims receive forensic and healing services when there is a report of physical or sexual abuse.
Thanks to our Spectacular Sponsors - Brunswick Coumty Relators Assocation, Orton Foundation, Mike Fortin, Novant Health, Patsy & Jerry Thrift, Trillium, and Frank Williams.
It is because of these Spectacular Sponsors that 100% of your donations will go directly to provide services to Brunswick child survivors of abuse.
Everyday Heroes Award
The Brunswick Sheriff’s office will be recognized for being the first police force in the nation to become a Partner In Prevention, a designation awarded to organizations and businesses that take the necessary steps to protect children from child sexual abuse in their communities. The designation is being granted by Carousel and the organization Darkness to Light, which works to empower adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse through awareness, education, and stigma reduction. Their Stewards of Children® training teaches adults to recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
To become a Partner in Prevention a business or organization must train 90-100% of their staff and volunteers in Stewards of Children® and commit to providing ongoing child sexual abuse prevention training.
