Why I support the Roundhouse Aquarium
I love the Roundhouse Aquarium! I have been lucky enough to have taken past classes there on site, and last year we had the best virtual field trip ever! The staff is passionate about educating students about the ocean environment and works hard to provide engaging learning opportunities for all students. They are hoping to raise funds this month to provide at least 10 bus grants so that students in title-one schools can experience the magic of the ocean. Any donation would be appreciated! Please feel free to share this fundraiser. Hoping to take my class and help other classes visit this spring. Thanks so much!
PS: I am holding a sea cucumber in my profile picture during a visit to the Roundhouse temporary site awhile back. Now who wouldn't make to hold a sea cucumber?!
About the Roundhouse Aquarium
The Roundhouse Aquarium Teaching Center (operated by Oceanographic Teaching Stations), located at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier has been serving the community for over 40 years. Our mission is to connect visitors and students to the oceans, provide hands-on and interactive experiences with marine life and habitats of Southern California, and inspire people to have positive impacts on the environment.
Each year, thousands of students from across the Los Angeles area are brought to the Roundhouse and beach for hands-on STEM field trips. Most of these students are from low-income schools, and 25% of them have never been to the beach before this field trip. Join us by donating to provide buses to allow more of these students to experience the wonder of the ocean, learn about the environment, and experience science in a hands-on environment.
