We rescued Hawkeye, our year old, blue eyed, deaf pitbull mix to be our other blue eyed, deaf pitbull mixes' buddy(Peepers). We could tell by the way the handler introduced the two dogs, that Cascades Humane Society is a top notch facility, with a very caring staff! She brought him outside to meet our dog and from accross the lot lot we noticed his different looking eye! As we got closer, we saw that he has a black ring around his left eye, his "Hawkeye"! As we approched him we also noticed that his "sniff" sounds just like a pig! How adorable! We had to have him. We picked him up the next day. That same day Hawkeye was cuddling up to Peepers, although it took Peepers a little longer to warm up to him. They are now best buddies! We are so blessed to have two deaf pit bulls who "listen" to our gestures and are gentle with our grandkids and our small dog as well.
