Many of us know him and love him but if you don’t, let me introduce you to Landon!
Landon came to RAL 7/11/23. He was flea ridden, crusty and cute. The next day staff noticed he was having a seizure. After a diagnostic work up, the shelter clinical staff landed on what they thought was a liver shunt. We could get into specifics with medical mumbo jumbo but who needs that?
The short version, Landon had a liver shunt, got it fixed with a coil embolization. Just his surgery cost was $7,438.58. That’s not counting medications, gas to drive there and back. His twice a week acupuncture. Every penny can help us help little guys like him!
Little bit of a longer of it. He needed a CT scan, but needed to really be 4 pounds, he was just over a pound. He got acupuncture twice a week and loved it. He loved that we discovered only the name brand Churus were for him, none of those other brands would do.
We got him sooner for a CT scan because he wasn’t doing great. The scan revealed an INTRA-hepatic shunt, pretty rare. He would need to have a coil embolization done with interventional radiology. We had to send him somewhere else.
His long road was bumpy, had ringworm, roundworms, at some point tapeworms.
He took a trip to a special vet school. They did his surgery June 18th. He hung out there for the rest of the week. Back to Richmond Friday he came!
We hit a lot of milestones in Landon’s little lift and hope with your help we can help him hit more and also help others reach milestones!
