Hi! My name is Kisha and I'm a Care Net volunteer. Well a nearly volunteer. I still have a few training sessions to go. To be a volunteer with CareNet, you not only have to want to do it, but also be kind of led to do it, well trained, prepared mentally, emotionally, and spirtitually. It is a great honor to be able to walk so intimately with families... women who are trusting you will sharing their most tender concerns of their heart. It's not us at all that really make things happen, but the God that meets them by way our of sacred conversations. He is able to make things clear, bring healing, hope, and restoration. As much as the client may glean from us, we are also gleaning from them. Every womans journey is special and uniques and worthy being told in their own voice. We listen well, meditate on the words spoken and pray we can be help any way we can. We care not only about the unborn, but the mommies. We love the Lord and we love those that we have the distinct honor to serve.
Although not easy. In life, things seldom are, at least not all the time, but we learn to presevere, lean in on eachother and on God, and press forward. I like that we stand together to do that. Not just in words, but in deeds. We offer enrichment classes to Mom/Dad, parenting classes that not only build confidence and skillsfor the new chapter ahead, but also earning credits for things baby may need like furnishings, clothes, diapers, etc. Help find resources they need to consider other alternatives to termination of pregnancy so they are as informed as possible while they make the best possible decision.. Faith without works is dead. We try to put our hands to the plow for the workers are few. We walk with each precious person as allowed and respect, love, show kindness. Every time we serve, there is a hope and a prayer that we do no harm and only good for our clients. Each time we meet, its an opportunity for someone to walk a little more closely with the Lord and that's important. Nonjudgmental and transparent! That's something I also love about CareNet. We come from all different backgrounds, and walks of life, but we are bound together by love, Love for God and Love for others. God does the work, we just show up.
