All 3 of our centers (Cypress, Champions and Kingwood) remain busier than ever. The fight continues even though Texas remains a state where abortions are illegal. Unfortunately, the abortion pill makes it easy for women (and men) and it has become the more popular choice to end their pregnancies. The FDA currently approves the abortion pill through 10 weeks. But increased danger comes when these scared women order online and never see a doctor before making this life changing (life ending) decision. There are several other dangers such as having an unknown ectopic pregnancy not to mention the physical pain and emotional trauma they could experience. Sadly, I followed up with a client, knowing she had an abortion, to see how she was doing and she said fine but she stated “I just can’t get it out of my head sometimes”.

Clients like her are who Care Net strives to serve. They come to verify their pregnancy and get a free ultrasound. The BEST news, we get to sit knee-to knee with them and listen and love them and share the gospel and pray with them. They get to sit with our nurse to talk out additional concerns and make that ultrasound appointment. In the ultrasound room, our nurses serve as another touch of Christ's love on these women when they get to see their baby’s heartbeat for the first time and the early beginnings of life. What a privilege to Care Staff in there during those appointments. At Care Net, we take really good care of our clients  regardless of their decisions we love them well.

Circling back to the abortion pills, there is data up to 63% are using this method, not including mail order abortion pills, so realistically it could be over 80%. The pills are available through the mail from other ‘legal abortion’ states in the U.S. or Mexico. The details and the dangers are real, and it is happening every day.

Keep in mind, all 3 centers have general office expenses, salaried employees; admin and nurses (not much btw), maintenance and many others costs. We cannot do this without our generous donors.
