I was 16 years old when I found my way to Carousel Ranch as a volunteer. I had just moved from Ohio and was devastated to be leaving the farm where I first fell in love with equestrian therapy and the special needs community. I had the opportunity to learn and experience equestrian therapy in a whole new way. Then I was introduced to the Ready to Work program in its infancy. 

Unfortunately after a very short 6 months I had to leave Carousel Ranch, but as I always say nobody ever really leaves. 

Little did I know 2 years later I would stumble upon a RTW! job opening. After about a year of working full time in both the equestrian therapy and the Ready to Work programs I have fallen in love all over again. 

Having the opportunity to witness joy and progress on a daily basis has been such a gift to me. Watching the young adults in the RTW! program find their way and discover their strengths all while learning invaluable skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives restores the passion in me that I found when I was 16. 

These students far exceed expectations every single day, whether that is standing up on the back of a horse or nailing a job interview. I am so proud to be a part of this family and so grateful for all that these brilliant, brave students have taught me.
