Mission

We are a community that believes every person matters and is worth fighting for! Everyone should have the opportunity to see their true worth and beauty through Jesus Christ.

The mission and vision of Catalyst Ministries is to glorify God and to lean on him as The Catalyst and change agent in the lives of women at risk — both locally and globally. We do this by serving survivors of human trafficking, exploitation and severe abuse, providing a residential community home as a safe haven, and providing holistic, wrap-around care.

Proceeds from the auction will assist with human trafficking education, outreach efforts and will also help expand the number of individuals receiving specialized services.  

What is Human Trafficking?

The most widely accepted definition of human trafficking comes from United Nation’s Palermo Protocols. This definition was accepted by the UN General Assembly in 2000 and is the international definition accepted by over 150 countries. It reads as follows:

““The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.”

According to estimates from the International Labour Organization, the human trafficking industry generates 32 billion U.S. dollars every year. Half of this amount comes from industrialized countries, and a third is generated in Asia. Trafficking can occur both within a country and trans-nationally. Because people can literally be sold again and again, trafficking is the world’s fastest growing crime.
