For those of you who don't know me very well, I would like to tell you my story! I grew up in a Christian home with both of my parents being devout Christians who also grew up in Christian families. Needless to say, God has always been a part of my life even before I was saved as a young child. As a child, I went through Christian schooling where I'd take a Bible class each year. In these classes, we would learn anything from Bible verse memory to the differing theological standpoints of the book of Revelation. Over time, I began to grow in not only my knowledge of who God is but also my personal beliefs. One thing I began to strongly believe in was missions. The more I learned of the brokenness found around the world, the more compelled I felt to involve myself with missions.

My 10th grade year of high school, I participated in a mission trip with my school's music department in Guatemala. We not only performed the worship services for the churches around the area, but we also were able to provide clean water, medicine and loving care for some of the children in the local orphanage. It was an experience that has helped shape my heart for missions greatly. Fast forward a couple of years and I enter college for the first time. Breaking out of my sheltered Christian bubble was a big culture shock for me as a new student at FSU but going to City Church on Sunday mornings (church), Sunday nights (bible study), and Tuesday nights (CCU) was the perfect balance for me as a freshman. One thing that stuck out to me while attending these events was the concept of local missions. The idea that missions doesn't only pertain to those flying overseas was something that has pushed me to grow as a local "missionary" through serving in my local church, making God's name known on my college campus, and making His name be known everywhere else I go. Now through serving in student leadership, I have been given the opportunity to participate in City Church U's Spring Break mission trip to London!

I am so excited to see God move in this mission trip overseas! We will be partnering with Thomas West and his new church plant, Redeemer Queen's Park, as the church will be officially launching later in the Spring. I can't wait to use the skills and talents God has given me to serve in any way possible for His Kingdom and His glory.
