Hi my name is Billy Smith and I'm hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. This is a 2,650 mile backpacking journey that will take me through California, Oregon, and Washington. My goal is to raise money for Camp Del Corazon. A nonprofit organization that sends kids with heart disease from ages 7-17 to a five day camp on Catalina island. I started going years ago as a camper and it's life changing! From the first day as a camper to the first day as a counselor, I’ve met life long friends, long lasting memories and now an opportunity to give kids the same wonderful life changing experiences I did at Camp Del Corazon. For Campers and Councillors, it’s a home away from home, allowing kids with Congenital heart disease to feel limitless, powerful and confident.
     I've personally had 8 open heart surgeries and as of a few years ago a pacemaker. I wasn't expected to live past 18 but here I am. I'm 23 and want to be an inspiration to my community and those campers. Come Join me on my journey @hikesforhearts_3335
