It is only 22 miles from the coast of Southern California to Catalina Island, but to a kid with heart health issues who has never been to summer camp, it is a journey that will forever change their life for the better. Camp Del Corazon was created to bring that experience to so many kids who would otherwise not be able to go to summer camp -- a place where kids with heart disease can safely and joyously spend long days on the ocean and nights making smores by the fire with friends.
Every camper attends Camp Del Corazon free of charge. All are welcome and included. As you can imagine, setting up a fun, safe and accessible camp for hundreds of kids, where every necessity (including extensive medical supplies and equipment) must be transported by boat or air, requires a lot of financial resources. This is where we come in.
I have loved and supported Camp Del Corazon for more than twenty years. This year, I am going to run the LA Marathon, 26.2 miles, just a little bit further than the distance from the California coast to Catalina, to raise money to enable this amazing experience to be a reality for kids living with heart health challenges. It would mean so much if you would support this journey. Every donation, in any amount, will help to make this dream come true for a kid with heart disease.
Thank you for your support!
