Want to donate items? To feed a family of four, we need these items for each basket:
2 cans / jars of gravy
2 cans of fruit
4 cans of veggies
1 can of cranberry sauce
2 boxes of stuffing
1 box of potatoes
1 can of yams
1 box of cake or brownie mix
Items will be collectedat any of our 9 branches: Albany, Bethlehem, Glenville, Greenbush, Greene County, Guilderland, Schenectady, Southern Saratoga, Troy

Please support me in raising money for our local YMCA Basket Brigade. This is a wonderful program that (unfortunately) is growing in need as we assist those who are food insecure to ensure they have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their family to include a full Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings! My Girl Scout Troop has generously supported this effort for the past 4 years by assisting in putting together the baskets/bags being donated as well as delivering them to those families within our community. Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping us continue assisting those in need right here in our own community- anything & everything helps! My goal is to have 50 people donate $10 each...or 25 people donate $20 each...or anything in between! :)
Our Community Needs YOU this Thanksgiving!
Helping those in need to enjoy the special joy of a complete Thanksgiving meal is what the Caring Community Basket Brigade initiative has been doing since 2016.
Since so many families are now struggling every day to make ends meet, we estimate that1,500 families from across the Capital Region will need our help this year. How many families we are able to feed truly depends on your help and the help of our community as a whole.
Currently, we are accepting monetary donations, to help us purchase turkeys and other items necessary to complete each meal. In November, we're always in need of more food donations and volunteers to ensure we can support ALL the families in need. If you're interested in assisting our neighbors, please feel free to reach out to me. It's wonderful knowing those in our community going through difficult times are supported for the holidays and can enjoy a complete Thanksgiving meal with their family without the concern of how they will be able to afford it. Neighbors being there for their neighbors is what Thanksgiving is all about!
