Is this a fundraising event?

You bet it is—and you’ll love every minute of it! From the Auction to the Paddle Raiser, every dollar raised supports The Cibolo’s work in conservation, nature education, youth leadership, and community wellness.

What is included in my ticket?

Each ticket includes:

  • An amazing cocktail hour & dinner
  • Open bar (yes, including the legendary Cibolo specialty cocktail)
  • Access to our incredible silent auction
  • Music, storytelling, and surprises
  • And the satisfaction of knowing you’re protecting what matters most: Nature, Education, and Community

Will there be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?

Absolutely! The main dish will be gluten-free with the exception of the bread on the table.  If you select the Vegan option, you will enjoy a full meal that is dairy and meat free. Please be sure to indicate your meal preference when you register. 

What is the Attire for the evening?

We call it “Hill Country Chic”—think boots with your best, linen with flair, or a dress you can show off in. This is your moment to shine without getting stuck in stilettos. Nature is your runway so ditch the heals!

What happens if it rains?

Rain or shine, the Gala goes on! We’ve got tents and backup plans galore. (Plus, nature looks extra gorgeous in the rain.)

PARKING & CHECK-IN

Where do I park?

Yes—complimentary valet parking is provided for all guests! Since parking is at a premium at Herff Farm and we welcome over 400 guests, we partner with a professional valet service to ensure your car is safely parked and you can enjoy the evening with ease. Simply pull through the main gates, drive up to the Teaching Garden, hand over your keys, and we’ll handle the rest!

Is Check-In Easy?

Yes—and dare we say, delightful? Step into the Teaching Garden and you’ll be welcomed with a cocktail and a warm hello from our team.

We collect guest names, phone numbers, and emails ahead of time so our amazing volunteers can check you in quickly by name. Want to make it lightning-fast? Complete your info online—including your credit card—ahead of time. It’s like getting the VIP pass to the party!

Why will I be asked to add a credit card?

Because you’re probably going to fall in love—with an auction item, a giving opportunity, or both! To bid or donate during the event, you’ll need a credit card on file. Don’t worry—your information is safe. No staff or volunteers ever see your card details, and we use a secure online system to keep everything protected.

Do I have to walk from the Teaching Garden to the Gathering Hall?

Nope! Just hop aboard one of our golf carts and ride down in style. We’ve got a fleet ready to whisk you along the path—no hiking boots required.

What changes did you make to the Gala from last year?

Ooh, we love this question. Each year we host the Gala, we take notes, gather feedback, and raise the bar. This year, you’ll notice:

  • streamlined check-in process
  • Professional wait staff keeping service top-notch
  • Water and Wine on the tables for easy puring
  • brighter, smoother silent auction experience
  • And new this year... a Paddle Raiser! (Start warming up those arms!)

We’re making magic happen—so expect the same heart, with even more sparkle.

What is a Paddle Raiser?

The Paddle Raiser is that electric, goosebump moment when the room unites to raise funds for the mission. No prizes, no bidding wars—just pure generosity. You’ll have the chance to lift your paddle (or click your phone!) and say, “I believe in this.” It’s one of the most powerful parts of the night.

Are my purchases and donations tax-exempt?

Auction items are NOT tax deductible. If you take home a fabulous item, it’s considered a purchase, not a donation. But the good news? Every dollar raised supports The Cibolo’s mission—so your shopping spree still does a world of good.

Paddle Raiser donations ARE tax deductible! Because you’re not receiving anything in return, your Paddle Raiser gift is 100% tax deductible—and 100% appreciated. You’ll receive a tax receipt after the event for your records.
