Three years ago, I joined the Board of Directors for The Coordinating Center. Since that date, I have been amazed at all The Coordinating Center does to coordinate care to help members of the community with complex medical needs meet their personal goals.
In addition to that care, The Coordinating Center created a fund years and years ago to provide financial assistance to children and adults with disabilities and complex medical and social needs throughout the state of Maryland. This fund can be used to . 100% of the money raised goes to help individuals.
Your donation helps people like Alex receive a transit system on his wheelchair so he can do his two favorite things - ride the bus - and go to school! It can also help older adults like Colleen receive the medication she needed to stay out of the hospital and in her home where she belongs. Here are just a few other ways we support people in need:
$50 can help provide transportation services for a critical medical appointment.
$100 can help a child or adult purchase tie downs for his or her wheelchair so they can ride the bus to school and work.
$200 can provide a child with an adaptive car set, stroller or bike.
$300 can provide a child with the gift of summer camp, and provide respite for a family caregiver.
$500 can provide a child or adult in need of critical dental or vision care with emergency care.
$1,000 can help 3 adults afford security deposits for a new apartment, as they transition out of nursing homes and back into homes in the community.
