My greatest hope is for others to never have to feel this pain.

I am excited to support Healthy Birth Day, Inc. their mission, and the 12th Annual Changemakers event by becoming this year’s Chairwoman. The work that is made possible by this fundraisier directly impacts families - saving babies and their parents. The mission to prevent families experiencing the pain of stillbirth resonated with me and my family in a profound way after we lost our son, Declan.

Declan was supposed to be the fourth generation Kenneth D. Cunningham. Instead, he is laid to rest with his great-grandfather, the first and last Kenneth D. resting in peace together.

We lost him on Dec. 24, 2014 and my husband, Danny, and I are changed forever. We often refer to our life before Declan and after Declan. We feel blessed to have loved him and carried him for his whole life, and that he only knew love in this world.

In the first raw years, months, and days of our grief we searched for ways to continue and find meaning, and through giving back in Declan’s memory we have coped. We wanted to help those who were making a difference in prevention and awareness of stillbirth and that’s when we found Healthy Birth Day. I was continually amazed about the real difference they were making in lowering stillbirth rates and bringing international awareness. Their founders’ mission to turn the pain of loss into something that really mattered and to change the world is incredible and resonated with us.

When I joined McGill Junge Wealth Management in 2021, I decided now was the time to share our story with my amazing team to see if our firm, who was already committed to serving our community and making a lasting impact, would help support Healthy Birth Day alongside us. Their response was an immediate yes, and I am forever grateful to be part of an amazing organization that is championing our cause and saving lives.

I hope you will consider supporting my Chairwoman's Campaign and the mission of Healthy Birth Day to serve expecting families and prevent stillbirth.
