My name is Presleigh Smith, and I was born with a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA). Just two days after I was born, I underwent open-heart surgery to correct it. Thanks to that successful operation, I’ve grown up healthy and strong.
As I approach my 16th birthday—and the 16th anniversary of my life-saving arterial switch surgery—I want to give back. That’s why I’m raising $1,000 for The Children’s Heart Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research for congenital heart defects.
